Racoon Hair Extensions

Hair in Recovery

Racoon International is the number-one supplier of high-quality, glamorous human hair extensions to salons, session stylists and global partners. Tara Phillips at The Hair Lounge is an accredited Raccoon stylist. We supply the specialist Hair in Recovery programme for medical hair loss.

Get the confidence

Hair loss can be a devastating condition. Chemotherapy, telogen effluvium and alopecia affect women from all backgrounds and can cause severe psychological and aesthetic effects. Racoon wants to help give women back their confidence and self-esteem.

The Hair in Recovery programme has been developed in consultation with Consultant Trichologist Iain Sallis MIT, who owns the largest number of trichology clinics in the UK.

It offers a tested, approved and trusted hair extensions service designed to be both accessible and affordable to as many women as possible. At a discounted rate offered for Racoon International hair, bonding and products, each client can be helped with the costs for 12 months from the date of their first order.

Get the experts

If you have been diagnosed with medical hair loss and would like safe, confidence-boosting hair extensions, then Racoon International can help.

Only those stylists who have a Racoon International certificate in bonded hair extensions and who have also been certified in Hair in Recovery carry out this unique programme.

This means that every customer going through the Hair in Recovery programme will be in the safe hands of an expert stylist who has received extensive tuition in medical hair loss issues, plus advanced training in the practical elements of application.

Get the consultations

The Hair Lounge knows that your hair is delicate, which is why you will be given a comprehensive consultation before any hair extensions are applied.

The initial consultation will ensure your suitability, identify hair and scalp issues, identify medication limitations, determine your expectations and ensure that your lifestyle considerations are taken into account.

The consultation is the ideal opportunity to ask any questions, plan your new look and receive a price for your hair extensions. When registering on the Hair in Recovery programme, you will need to show proof of medical hair loss diagnosis to your stylist.

Clients on this programme will receive a subsidy on hair, bonding, and aftercare products.

Get the aftercare

You will receive maintenance and rotation every four weeks, and will also be asked to go into your salon to see your stylist for a five-minute appointment each week after the extensions have been applied.

Our fully trained  team are also on hand to answer any questions that you may have.

Hair in Recovery is a specific hair extensions service which provides an alternative to wigs for clients suffering from medical hair loss – particularly patients in recovery from cancer. This tested, approved and trusted hair extensions service has the seal of approval from an independent trichologist, Iain Sallis M.I.T.

The Hair in Recovery service includes full consultation prior to an application of Luxe Bonds, on-going advice and regular salon check-ups to ensure the client is managing their extensions okay. Their existing hair and scalp is also checked to ensure they remain in tip-top condition.

In addition to being qualified in the Racoon International Luxe Bond system, your stylist must have achieved certification in the expert Hair in Recovery course. You can either ask your stylist to provide a copy of their certificate or contact Racoon International for verification.

Hair extensions can give you instant texture, volume, length and style without the need for chemicals or patch testing. Our versatile bonding system allows the size of the bonds to be formed individually to suit short or thinning hair. Racoon International is the only company to offer this specialised Hair in Recovery option for clients suffering from medical hair loss.

With Racoon International hair extensions, not only can you achieve beautiful glamorous length and va-va voom volume, you can transform fine, thinning hair into thicker luscious lengths. Use a dash of colour to add texture and depth with highlights and lowlights or even reconstruct and alter an existing style with a fringe, layers and creative geometric shapes. With Racoon International the possibilities really are endless!

The bonds created in Racoon’s Luxe Bond system are small and discreet, no bigger than the size of an uncooked grain of rice. They are also translucent, taking on the colour of the client’s own natural hair making our Luxe Bonds virtually undetectable. The unique formula of our bonding material is easy to apply and quick to remove, leaving no trace or residue.

Yes, provided the correct maintenance and aftercare guidelines have been followed our hair is fully re-usable. Part removal and re-application take place every four to six weeks when you return to the salon for regular ‘rotation appointments’ to re-site extensions as your hair grows.

With regular salon maintenance and the use of Racoon-Xtend care products, Luxe Bond and Luxe Link extensions should last for at least six months and easily up to one year.

Yes. Racoon’s exclusive colour matching service means salons can order bespoke blends of shades to perfectly match the client’s own hair. Racoon’s Luxe Bond method is a loose hair system which allows your stylist to blend a mix of hair shades together to achieve the most natural of looks. With an extensive palette of colours to choose from, Racoon’s Luxe Bond system achieves natural, multi-toned colours to seamlessly match your own hair colour.

Care must be taken not to get colour onto the bonds themselves but Luxe Bonds can be tinted, coloured or highlighted only by a Racoon International certified stylist especially trained in this specialised process. If colouring is carried out by a non-Racoon trained individual, the bonds may break down and invalidate your guarantee.

Top Tip: Colour during maintenance appointments.

No; provided they are removed and rotated every 4 to 6 weeks and the appropriate aftercare guidelines are followed, clients will not experience any matting or residue from Luxe Bonds.

Top Tip: separate your bonds every day – ideally two or three times a day. Use your fingers to gently tease apart any extensions which have ‘locked’ together. Neglecting to do this can lead to ‘dreadlocking’ where several hair extensions cling or ‘lock’ together.

Yes, the Hair in Recovery programme has been specifically developed for individuals with recognised medical hair loss that have experienced either hair loss or thinning hair. As the bonds are individually formed and the hair is applied weight for weight they are still discreet even for clients with extremely fine hair.

Extensions removal must be carried out by a Racoon International certified stylist. Our unique removal process ensures your hair extensions can be removed quickly, leaving no trace, residue or damage to your natural hair.
